Scott Vivian
Born in Montreal to an Indian mother and Italian father, food has always been an important part of Scott’s life. After cooking in top kitchens in Atlanta and Portland, Scott returned home to Canada where he worked for Tobey Nemeth at the Jamie Kennedy Wine Bar. After a year he was promoted to chef de cuisine of Jamie Kennedy at the Gardiner where local food procurement was an every day occurrence.
In June of 2010 Scott was able to fulfil his dream of owning a restaurant by taking over the culinary historical space on 96 Tecumseth Street with his wife Rachelle. Their passion of supporting local artisans is the number one philosophy at Beast Restaurant. With a weekly changing menu, Scott allows seasonal produce and top quality Ontario ingredients to become the focal point of the gastronomic experience that is offered.

Valerie Howes
Valerie Howes is a Scottish-born, Toronto-based food and travel writer, passionate about building community around food. She is the food editor for Reader’s Digest, and travels regularly across Canada to gather recipes, meet chefs and producers, and discover regional ingredients, which she writes about weekly on her award-winning blog at readersdigest.ca/blog/

Danielle Brodhagen
Danielle’s passion for food led to a 15 year career in the hospitality industry in Ontario and abroad. She has spent the last five years working to develop culinary tourism in Stratford. The force behind Stratford’s inaugural Savour Stratford Perth County culinary tourism campaign and food festival pairing local growers and artisan food producers with Stratford renowned chefs. Danielle works for the Stratford Tourism Alliance to implement the Culinary Tourism Strategy for the region. As an active member of Slow Food Perth County, Danielle plans events raising awareness of good, fair and clean food. She is the mother to her beautiful 2 year old daughter, Elloise whose first words were “yum yum”. Their family just returned from a six week round the world culinary adventure to Japan, Thailand and the UK.
