Co-Founder, Drink Toronto
Dick Snyder writes about food, drinks, guitars, music, travel and other fun stuff for publications such as Zoomer, Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants, The Toronto Star, enRoute and Harry. He co-founded the online wine club kwäf (kwaf.ca), which helps regular folks find good wine at good prices, with a focus on promoting outstanding Canadian wines.
In 2005, he founded CityBites (citybites.ca), Toronto’s first publication dedicated to the local food and drinks scene, which is no longer publishing (boohoo). But he keeps threatening to revive it online, so stay tuned.
Meantime, inspired by some great food tours he took in San Sebastian, Scottsdale and Puerto Vallarta, last year he co-founded the walking tour company Drink Toronto (drinktoronto.ca) with sommelier Erin Henderson (The Wine Sisters).
DTO provides guests a VIP taste experience at Toronto’s top restaurants and bars while showing off the city’s neighbourhoods. (DTO also runs events and a wine school.) Snyder has his Diploma in Wines and Spirits from WSET, and he judges for the Ontario Wine Awards and the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair Wine Awards. One day, he hopes to be an expert in wine — and guitars (or anything). He’s currently obsessed with learning to fly.
