Eric Pateman has emerged as one of the key ambassadors of Canadian cuisine and the strategic mind behind a national culinary tourism focus over the past decade. As a chef and successful entrepreneur, Eric oversees a series of businesses that include restaurants, retail stores, culinary based travel, food production, as well as consulting and brand development. Historic Granville Island, in Vancouver, BC, is home to Edible Canada’s flagship restaurant, retail store and corporate office, though Eric tends to spend the majority of his time travelling around the world showcasing Canadian cuisine.
A 4th generation Vancouverite, Eric has worked in the hospitality industry for over two decades as a chef, owner and consultant. As Edible Canada’s Executive Chef, President and Founder, he is regularly sought as an expert on Canadian food and wine for research projects, cooking demonstrations, event curation and speaking engagements.
Eric has an MBA focused on hospitality finance, has co-authored two books and was named as the recipient of the Mayor of Vancouver's Art Award for Culinary Arts in 2013. He was also named as one of Business in Vancouver's Top 40 Under 40 Business People in 2007, and to Western Living Magazine's list of the Top 40 Foodies Under 40 in Western Canada in 2008.
