An environmental engineer, she worked 7 years in business development in the Renewable Energy sector in very small and very big companies in Portugal and Spain.

In November 2013, she created Fruta Feia (meaning Ugly Fruit), a consumer’s cooperative that fights against food waste due to appearance, buying directly to local farmers the fruits and vegetables that are rejected by big distributors due to aesthetic reasons (shape, colour and size) and selling them to its consumers.

By the end of 2017, with 150 producers and 4000 consumers, Fruta Feia saved more than 800 tonnes of fruits and vegetables from being wasted!
