I grew up in a small fishing community of about 200 people on the east coast of Newfoundland and Labrador (NL). The traditional foods of my childhood feed my passion to tell stories of my province through its people, its culture and its food.

Out of this passion I started Project NL Food, a province-wide endeavor to visit various communities and speak with generations of people that hold their culture close to their heart. I believe it is vital to record their stories, in fact it is the driving force behind what I do every day.

After 20 years in the food industry I now own and operate Cod Sounds. My company is devoted to celebrating the traditions and our unique foods with travellers and locals alike.

From the seal hunt to the gathering of gulls eggs, from wild game to berry picking, I will share with you our food stories, from where we have come from to where we are going.
