A fluent Italian, German, and Japanese speaker with a deep knowledge of Japanese cuisine, Nicholas Röhl co-founded the first conveyor-belt sushi bar in Europe in 1994, and co-owns Brighton’s popular Japanese restaurant of MOSHIMO.  He has divided his career between restaurants and film, having directed documentaries for Channel 4 in the UK and written a number of commissioned screenplays for Ralph Fiennes and others. He co-founded Fishlove in 2009 with actress Greta Scacchi in response to an urgent need to get the subject of over fishing and destructive fishing practices into the media.

Nicholas lives both in Brighton, UK and in the North Italian Alps with his Italian wife and three children.
