NORMAND LAPRISE

Normand Laprise was born in Kamouraska in 1961. He studied at the École hôtelière de Charlesbourg in Québec City and started working in restaurants in Québec and Montréal.

After a few internships abroad, he comes back to Canada. In 1993, he opens Toqué ! with his associate Christine Lamarche. The restaurant is a hub for culinary experiments, changing its tasting menu daily.

In 2010, the duo opens Brasserie T ! in the Montréal Quartier des Spectacles. This casual restaurant democratizes the access to high-quality ingredients. The Brasserie T ! enjoyed a big success from its opening day.

Chef Laprise travels often nationally and internationally to share the Québec gastronomy. His work was awarded with appointments to the Ordre National du Québec and the Order of Canada. He is also the only Canadian on the prestigious Paul Bocuse Institute Advisory Board.
