Innovation, positive change, and learning something new gets Peter out of bed, every single day. Recognized in 2017 as one of Atlantic Canada’s Top 50 CEOs by Atlantic Business Magazine, he brings his passion for being at the leading edge of food innovation to his multi-disciplinary team of chefs, food scientists and market experts. Canada’s Smartest Kitchen has emerged as the country’s leading food product development center, located on the Charlottetown waterfront at the Culinary Institute of Canada.

A graduate of Medicine, paired with a fascination for the brain and how it works, led Peter into pharmaceutical research. After a short stint, he decided to add skills in information technology and software development to pursue opportunities in Toronto. Having lived through the boom and bust, he then found himself on Bay St. conducting technology assessments and investor due diligence for new and emerging disruptive, science-based innovations.

Peter is now a repatriated East Coaster, enjoying Island life on his organic and sustainable hobby farm with his 5 year old daughter, Tallulah. She has developed the same passion for food and entrepreneurship having recently launched her own organic egg business to support her global travel fund. Peter and Tallulah lead Canada’s Smartest Kitchen’s corporate social responsibility efforts focusing on kids, food and education in PEI schools.

Peter is also the Founder and CEO of idea2market, a boutique commercialization firm providing access to capital and personalized mentorship services to early stage entrepreneurs.
