Torunn Tronsvang is the Founder and CEO of the travel startup Up Norway. Up Norway’s vision is to introduce quality conscious international travelers to unique Norwegian experiences, and to develop Norway as a destination for culinary experiences. The company is currently building a platform aiming to match travelers with personalized journeys based on preferences and interests. The concept “Taste of Local Secrets” invites travelers to farm-to-table and sea-to-table experiences combining local food culture and Nordic gastronomy. The company has a formalized partnership with HANEN; Norway’s official membership organization for farm tourism and farm food, and focuses on three aspects of sustainable development; local communities, economies and the environment.
Torunn holds a Bachelor degree in International Hospitality Management from The Emirates Academy and Ecole Hotelier de Lausanne, as well as an MBA from the Norwegian School of Economics and a Diploma in Nutrition. She has held positions within leadership, quality management and experience development with Anantara Hotels in Thailand and Maldives, Jumeirah Hotels in Dubai and Aman in Bhutan. Before she founded Up Norway in 2016, she worked seven years as a consultant in the Norwegian hospitality and tourism industry.
